Colyton -  is a small and ancient town situated in the beautiful Axe Valley.  The town itself is grouped around a handsome church and is situated on the river Coly which then joins the river Axe at Colyford and meanders down the valley where the river flows into the sea at Axmouth and Seaton in Lyme Bay.

The whole parish is singularly beautiful, with rolling green hills and deep combes dotted with ancient farmsteads. The combes of Colyton parish, with their network of medieval lanes linking farm to farm, make pleasant walking for several days on end.
