The James Verner Furniture Studio is on the Jurrassic coast of West Dorset, created a world Heritage site by UNESCO in 2001.

Nestling at the top of a small valley overlooking the sea, the studio is open throughout the year by appointment.

James Verner is one of a new generation of English woodworkers.

He uses wood for its aesthetic as well as practical qualities in well-proportioned designs. The superbly finished surfaces allow the wood to speak for itself.

The Studio produces furniture for clients world wide. Rare English hardwoods are immortalised in the furniture, their grain patterns displayed decoratively in highly finished, durable surfaces.

James Verner makes 'pictures in wood'. Boards are re-sawn on his band saw and opened up like a book to reveal symmetrical grain patterns.

Traditional finishes are produced in the Studio from linseed oil, beeswax and turpentine.

Our furniture has been featured in Vogue magazine and can be seen in both public and private collections in Great Britain, the US, Italy and France.
