Located at the top of a hill, all the services come to us. We have a visiting hairdresser twice a week, although she will come and do hair for any special occasion by prior arrangement. The Chiropodist visits by appointment every 6 to 12 weeks. Interim appointments can be made to go to the Foot Clinic if required. The Community Nurses, Occupational Therapist and Physiotherapist all visit when required by the individual resident. We encourage residents to keep their own local Doctor or to have the choice from the three local Practices.

The accommodation will generally exceed minimum requirements. Residents will be encouraged to bring their own furniture and processions to supplement or replace the furniture provided. Thus enabling a physical link with their home to be maintained. Part of the Dining Room.

Our chef home cooks all the food and attention is given to individual tastes and diets, medical, religious or ethical. We are aware of the necessity of providing a balanced diet for all of these groups.

The emphasis will be upon a family environment and each resident should feel that they have someone to turn to and confide in, in any situation, either with staff or management. Along with their general care this is the most important role the staff have to play and they are carefully selected to meet both the physical and mental needs of the individual.

A balance will be maintained between the autonomy and individual rights of the residents and a need for a certain amount of routine and security. Privacy will be respected and the expression of views and opinions welcomed.

There will be access to external advice for those who find it difficult to make their preferences known.

The management will pay particular attention to the backgrounds of the resident, as this awareness is essential in preserving their identity.

Recognition of past qualities is important in achieving a high level of morale and it is important to enable residents to achieve their full potential. With encouragement from the staff it is hoped that a normal social life will be available. Facilities will be provided, where possible including transport to outside functions.

We have an open house policy and welcome all visitors at any time. We do ask everyone to sign our visitors book on entering and leaving the house. This enables us to comply with current regulations.

All residents will be encouraged and assisted to maintain contacts outside the home. Family and friends will be welcome at any reasonable time and catered for if required, but their visits will be carefully considered. If it is felt that they are not in the residents best interest, the advice of the Social Services and Registration will actively be sought in these and other difficult circumstances.
