Built in 1845, Pinhay House is a Grade 2 listed building situated on the Devon/Dorset border, one mile to the west of Lyme Regis. The spaciously proportioned interior of the house and its rural setting with delightful gardens and view down to Pinhay Bay provide the ideal atmosphere for a peaceful life. The Owners have succeeded in combining the luxury of the Victorian Mansion with the highest standards of care attainable in a quality Residential Home.

The house offers 21 rooms, several of which can accommodate two people if required. All rooms have their own basins, TV points and call bells; several have private bathrooms and many have telephone points. South facing rooms have superb sea views and these include the residents Drawing Room and Dining Room.

There are two gravelled terraces at the rear of the house providing easy access even for the most immobile. Lawns and well-stocked flowerbeds give a pleasant foreground to the trees of the Undercliffe and the sea of Lyme (Pinhay) Bay in the background. The surrounding fields contribute to the overall feeling of space and tranquillity.

As a matter of interest, the house was featured in the film "The French Lieutenant's Woman."

The best way to see how a home runs is simply to come along and have a look. We welcome people to drop in and meet us, have a chat and a cup of tea. If you wish to visit the home on a more formal basis, it is always advisable to ring and make an appointment, as we may be out or otherwise engaged at the time of your visit.

There are no formal visiting hours at Pinhay, relatives and friends are welcome to visit at any time. We only ask that the needs of the resident are respected and that prior arrangements are made if visiting around meal times (which you are more than welcome to join us for).

In the interest of Fire and Safety we ask all visitors to advise a member of staff of their arrival and departure from the home, and to let someone know if they are taking a resident out for a while.

We often have events for charities, i.e. coffee mornings, tea parties etc which we are always delighted to welcome relatives and friends to.

"We look forward to seeing you at Pinhay House"
