What better way to enhance the experience of visiting Lyme Regis than by taking your time over a notably excellent meal? Exquisite food created with style and panache – and coupled with faultless service in a relaxed atmosphere – are always a pleasure. And when you can savour the event in a sublime setting it all becomes even more memorable.

Here at the Mariners Restaurant we understand exactly what it is that makes an outstanding dining experience. First of all our acclaimed head chef – Richard Reddaway – sources only the finest and freshest local produce. Totally in tune with the seasons, he then creates dishes that are firmly influenced by the best of British. Of course, with such a stimulating assortment of fish available right on the doorstep, the fruits of the sea are a particular speciality on his menus.

From seared West Country scallops and tian of local crab, to grilled cutlets of English lamb and slow roasted belly of pork, Richard’s recipes embrace and celebrate the mouth-watering tastes and textures that bless England’s green and luscious land – not forgetting its deep and bountiful seas. Every week he introduces something new to the menu that has excited his imagination and taste buds, then each month the entire choice is rethought and recreated. As the local flora and fauna transform throughout the year, so does the restaurant’s stunning offer.

But the dishes Richard conjures into existence aren’t the only things to savour. The atmosphere of the restaurant is also something to luxuriate and relax in. Soft, natural tones and subtle but elegant fittings create a serene ambience. Our waiters and staff are among the most efficient you will encounter and service is always impeccable, while remaining unstuffy, friendly and informal.

Because the Mariners Restaurant is located in a town of enviable beauty, and produces cuisine with such a unique flair, it can quite understandably be labelled as ‘destination dining’. But whether you are coming from near or far, with a menu that is constantly changing to show off the sumptuous delights of locally sourced ingredients, there is always a reason to visit.
