The seaside town of Seaton is only three miles away and the famous town of Lyme Regis is seven miles away just across the border in Dorset.

Other places to visit in the area are Beer, Sidmouth, Honiton and Charmouth.  Colyton is situated in the Axe Valley, were the rivers Coly and Axe meet giving it some wonderful walks or you can take a ride on the famous tramway that runs from Colyton to Seaton. There are many very good attractions around east Devon including the Donkey Sanctuary, Pecorama, Otterton Mill, Beer Quarry Caves and Bicton Park. If you have never been to Colyton before you are in for a treat. Colyton is a medieval town steeped in history. There are many interesting buildings including the chamber of feoffees and Saint Andrew's Church with its unusual lantern tower.

Enjoy the friendly atmosphere as you walk around the circular street pattern of Saxon design. The centre is a conservation area with a variety of architectural gems from little stone cottages to substantial houses. Visit the Tannery Shop with goods made with leather from the towns oak bark tannery, one of only two in the country.   If you are going to take the tram to Seaton then why not experience a relaxing ride on an old farm wagon pulled by two beautiful Suffolk Punches that goes from Colyton town centre to the station. You will find a very warm welcome in Colyton and we you look forward to seeing you soon.
