Debbie and Robin Hamon - she's a local girl, he's originally from Sark - are continuing a tradition of hospitality that goes back several centuries at The Nags Head, which stands on one of the main roads running up from the town centre.

This fine old hostelry is everything a good local should be, and the tenants are the most friendly and welcoming of hosts. Four real ales are always on tap in the two cosy main bar areas, which are adorned with an amazing collection of bric a brac and ornaments - mugs and tankards, framed photographs, sporting prints and cartoons, cigarette cards, a  cricket bat, a plaque from Deauville races, a list of Goodwin Sands shipwrecks, rolls of honour of the Royal Antediluvian Order of Buffaloes. 

Appetising home-cooked food is served Sunday lunch times with a choice of roasts which are always popular. When the sun shines, the beer garden overlooking the coast comes into its own. There's plenty to see and do in Lyme Regis, and The Nags Head makes an excellent base, with three cosy en suite bedrooms for bed & breakfast guests.
