Welcome to Lyme Regis |
...and to our tourism and business guide for our town, thank you for taking the time to browse around we hope you enjoy it almost as much as your visit.
If you are looking for holidays in dorset, holiday cottages, holiday parks, caravan parks, camping sites or visitor attractions in or around the heart of the World Heritage Site known as "The Jurassic Coast", then look no further. We are blessed with some of the most spectacular scenery on the south coast and our seafront and harbour known as "The Cobb" is a jewel in a many faceted crown. The Cobb is internationally known as the place where Louisa Musgrove fell from steps, known locally as "Granny's Teeth" in the Jane Austen novel "Persuasion". The Cobb also became visually famous when the late John Fowles novel "The French Lieutenants Woman" was made into a very successful film of the same name - see posters to the right. The beaches are plentiful and include sandy beaches for families, pebble beaches and rock pools for exploring (at low tide) that are the envy of many coastal towns - please read the seashore code here.
A great place to start looking is using the "Tourist Directory" link to the left. This shows our extensive listings for all of the hotels, guest houses, bed and breakfast's, restaurants, and cafes as well as visitor attractions such as The Marine Aquarium, Dinosaurland, The Philpot Museum, The Town Mill, Charmouth Heritage Coast Centre and The Marine Theatre as well as many other listings on this site and visiting the Lyme Regis Map will show the locations and surrounding area.
